Crypto community's hostility to outsiders is making crypto a closed-system, opposite of what it preaches.
"Realism keeps us on track. Idealism builds us new tracks."
The idea of an open-source, decentralized economic social system is what attracted me to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in the first place. However, I'm still seeing a lot in the community who keeps giving an unwelcoming vibe to people who are not from a background revolving around blockchain or programming. If the community keeps rewarding and spreading this elitist attitude in crypto, then it's no different from the old world of bankers and wankers that it's breaking out from.
Stop demonizing people for not having a background in blockchain/programming. Start welcoming. So what if an individual/team/company has no experience in this industry? Let them learn, let them copy, let them flourish. This is how crypto can grow stronger and more far-reaching, not by keep putting people down by telling them off because they used to sell pizza, make lemonades, do marketing or drive trucks. Maybe a pizza seller knows something that a blockchain programmer doesn't, that can contribute to crypto. We never know. We are trying to reshape a system here, and while technical expertise is perhaps the most important aspect, it will never be the only aspect of the bigger picture.
Just compare the Internet when only technical, IT-savvy people use it to when common, non-technical people and people from every other industry started to contribute to the ecosystem. The Network Effect will only be achieved when anyone and everyone can participate without someone on Twitter/Reddit/Facebook telling them that they are bad because they have no blockchain experience and are only trying to jump into the bandwagon. Well hello? What do you expect? In case you haven't realized, people have been looking for opportunities to improve their income and their lives since forever.
Being too technical or solely technical is practically the death sentence of almost every technology that failed. Don't make the same mistake for crypto. Don't close the door to non-technical people or people from other industries. A blockchain expert is not the only person who should feel welcomed in crypto. A creative designer, a hippy grandma, an ambitious 7-year old, a digital marketer, a loud politician, whatever man. They all deserve to make their mark in this new paradigm.
Remember, the people who changed the world weren't often the most recognized or qualified people, but simply the people who just want to make it happen.
