I tried to buy some crypto through Coinbase as i have been doing before. Now the transaction was blocked. I spoke with customer support ant they told me that they blocked transactions to buy cryptocurrencies.
I’ve heard that a lot banks have starting doing this in other countries but i actually was naive enough to think that it would not happen in Sweden.
I don’t buy the argument that it is to risky since they have absolutley no issue with me using their credit or debitcard to play at online casinos.
Im posting this to let all swedes know that if you are planning to buy crypto or value your freedom to buy whatever you want (at least with your money with a debitcard) don’t open a account on Swedbank.
Sure, i’m pissed at Swedbank but I mostly see this as positive for crypto. Obviously banks are scared shitless and are now putting up a fight. Banks blocking transactions is probably the most stupid thing they can do since crypto is a lot about beeing in control of your own money. Ironicly the banks efforts to stop crypto by blocking transactions strenghten the need for crypto. :)
