Devery Technical Overview

The power of the Devery protocol happens when the authenticity of products are verified and trusted. With the products authenticity no longer in question, off chain data management and analytics can be used to service the specific needs of corporate partners. The Devery protocol is built from the foundation to service organizations who oversee large supplychains which is why if you look at the protocol, companies looking to verify the authenticity of products will utilize the Devery smart contracts in the following order:

1st - Companies interested in verifying and enforcing the authenticity of products create an App account to control their own ecosystem using the addAppAccount() contract function

2nd - All brands producing or distributing products to be authenticated by the owner of the app account will create their brand and store it using the addBrandAccount() contract function.

3rd - Every BrandAccount() that needs authentication services to comply with the supplychains demands will create product accounts for the category and group of products that will be authenticated by using the addProductAccount() contract function.

4th - The function Mark() is used to mark the blockchain for each product account (product grouping) that will be authenticated (hashed value from rfid, nfc, QR codes, generic bar codes or any other source can be input to this function) --> enables interoperability with other chains by passing a hashed value from one chain to the other.

5th - Important to observe that the blockchain is not marked using Mark() for every single product moved in the supply but instead it is marked for productAccount() grouping. (How you group products is important for offchain product tracking larger groups means less refined tracking but cheaper due to less marking. Smaller groups means more refined tracking but more expensive due to more frequent function calls of Mark().

6th - The App Account (App developer) has the ability implement verification fees for providing the service.

7th - The App Account can build the app to do off chain data tracking such as grouping products that have been built into larger assemblies.

8th - The data source for the hashed values can be provided by the App Account in the form of a QR code generator to enforce authenticity by removing the ability for Brand Accounts to manufacture or influence the hashed value input into the Mark() function. This promotes trust between Brand Accounts who work together by enabling and encouraging BrandAccount to check the authenticity of products received by producers and distributers along the supply chain.

Off chain data still has value and Devery will authenticate that data using the very well written protocol launched on the mainnet and viewable on GitHub.

JD would want to control their own supplychain so they will make their own App Account and their own proprietary app which is on a closed repository for obvious reasons.

The Devery Team is working on DeveryJS, a platform for companies to develop their authentication apps on without having to interact with the smart contracts directly. (abstraction layer exists) By using this platform companies will give the Devery team verification fees for providing the BaaS. --> JD.com app is most likely being built on this.

The Devery team turned down VC funding in favor of an ICO with very small caps 3eth per person to promote decentralization and currently they are only listed on decentralized exchanges. They are also working to implement BTTS which will change the way people develop decentralized exchanges and interact with the ethereum network by removing the need for gas to create a token transaction for EVE.

The protocol will help more then just corporations it will also impact consumers; let's look!...

Using the Devery phone app consumers shopping online will be able to shop without the fear of counterfeit products.

Authenticity Verification of:

Luxury items, (jewlery, fasion)

Aftermarket car parts,

Event Tickets, (sports, music)

Used goods, (eBay second hand items)

And much more!

Devery will enable e-commerce sites to expand their product offerings by ensuring that the distributors authorized to sell on their website are selling authentic products. This opens the door for luxury brands (Oakley, Rolex, Coach) to sell on sites like JD.com without the fear of imposter products damaging the brands image.

Devery will change ecommerce.

Coming in May

--> Whitepaper Revamp, Launch of Application on public repositories, and possible partnership expansions.

Disclaimer** I am not a paid shill or a team member just a fan of Devery and the work that it has done so far. :)
