At block 963500 Aeon introduced it's anti ASIC algorithm. The network hashrate dropped from about 140MH/s to 8MH/s.
To avoid the same problems that Electroneum has/had after their fork, the difficulty was reset to 2 billions.
If you want to help the network (or just make some quick bucks) point your miners to one of the Aeon pools. Both popular cryptonight miners (XMR-stak and XMRig) support the new Aeon algorithm.
