We all know Coinbase is the worst. But while they remain popular, I just want to help spread awareness that transferring BTC BCH ETH LTC you bought with Coinbase to an external wallet or exchange can be done FOR FREE. Many still do not know this. Here's how to do it, using .01 BTC and Binance for my example (I'll try to explain in a way that users of all experience levels can follow):
Step 1) Buy .01 BTC using Coinbase (no way to avoid the Coinbase fee here, but this will be the only fee you'll have to pay)
Step 2) Sign into GDAX; your Coinbase login and password also work here.
Step 3) On GDAX, deposit your .01 BTC from Coinbase to your BTC wallet on GDAX: There's an option for 'Coinbase account' in the GDAX deposit window. This transfer is instant and free. Now your .01 BTC is in your BTC wallet on GDAX.
Step 4) On GDAX, withdraw .01 BTC: In the 'Withdraw Funds' window select 'BTC Address', paste your Binance BTC deposit address to 'Destination'. Withdraw. And that's it, you will receive .01 BTC in your wallet on Binance. The transfer fee is 0.

You can save the fees in step one by using ACH (longer wait) or Wire money from your bank account to coinbase (this is free). Once you get USD in coinbase, go to gdax and click deposit under USD and choose from coinbase. This should be done instantly. Then go to BTC/USD or ETH/USD and purchase using limit order. No fees for buying either crypto
