Trading between Alts is not a taxable event in 2017 but it is for tax year 2018, Can someone please confirm this.
u/Bootstrapbuyout claims here that for 2017 if you traded Alts as long as you have not converted to fiat it is not taxable. But, starting Jan 1st 2018 this changed because of the act passed in congress. The act is not retroactive for 2017. Can some of confirm that.
This info if confirmed will be useful for thousands of people. I am guessing you still have to file paperwork to state that it is like kind exchange.
